Where can I find the Hats ‘n Dreads hair shop?
Hats ‘n Dreads doesn’t have a hair shop, we work from our home (smoke free environment). This is in Amersfoort (NL). When you make an appointment you’ll receive the address and a route.

If traveling isn’t possible for you, we could come to you. This is only possible if you live in the Netherlands. Please note: we charge our travel expenses in this case. Contact us for the terms.

Can I still wash my hair when I have real dreads?
Yes of course! Having clean hair is much more pleasant! We’ll advise you to leave your new dreads the first week, but after the first week you can do what’s comfortable for you. It’s the best anyway to wash your hair (also without dreads) up to two times in a week.

Do I have to shave off my hair if I want to get rid of my dreads?
You could do this. But you also could comb them out! The older your dreads are, the more time it takes to do so. Bear in mind a time-consuming and sometimes painful chore, but you’ll keep your hair! We could advise you about this by e-mail.

How long must my hair be for dreads?
In the case of real dreads your hair should have a minimum length of 15 cm. By putting them in you will lose some length and if it’s shorter than 15 cm there is a risk they will sag out. In the case of fake dreads we require a minimum length of 10 cm so we can braid the dreads tightly to your own hair.

I would like to have synthetic dreads, how does that work?
Hats ‘n Dreads doesn’t make or sell synthetic dreads. If you would like to have these in your hair we give you two options:
You buy them yourself and take them with you on the day of the appointment. This is the easiest way because you can choose the colors yourself. The other option is us buying the dreads. The costs of buying these dreads will be added to the total price. These costs are not included in the maximum price of 150 Euros.

Where can I buy synthetic dreads?
At many places! Specialized hairdressers and Afro Hair Shops usually sell them and offer you a wide range of colors. But you’ll also find them at off-license shops, events and the Internet. In one pack of synthetic dreadlocks you’ll find approximately 10 dreads, for a head full of them you’ll need 6 to 8 of these packs.

Next week I have this special occasion and I would very much like to have wool dreads done before that date. Is this possible?
Creating these beautiful and customized wool dreads takes some time and for that reason we cannot guarantee that we can make your dreads on such short notice. The earlier you place the order, the more guaranteed you are you’ll have them in time for your special occasion.
